Obituary of Richard M. Ostrander

Richard M. Ostrander Rochester: On December 30, 2008 at age 72 after a valiant battle with cancer, Richard went home to be with his Lord with his family at his side. Predeceased by his parents, Oswald & Mary. Survived by his wife, Zillah; children, Mark (Debra), Steven (Mary Ellen), Julie (James) Carney; 8 grandchildren; 5 loving cats, Sandy, Hebee, Shebee, Jabez & Kaylee. Richard and Zillah were active members of The Salvation Army. Together they ran The Salvation Army Street Feeding Program on Saturday nights for 8 years. For 3 years they have enjoyed traveling West in their motor home with their cats. Richard was a retiree of Eastman Kodak Company. He also worked for Medical Motors and National Ambulance. The family wishes to express their gratitude for the compassionate care at Wilmot Cancer Center and VNS Hospice Palliative Care. Family and friends are invited to call at Miller Funeral Homes, Inc. (3325 Winton Road South) on Friday 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Richard's Funeral Service will be celebrated on Saturday at 10 AM in the All Seasons Chapel at White Haven Memorial Park.
