When i was a small child, my father told me his memories about The Beers Family. I was so curious about them. In 2008 I was lucky to meet my new American Family. My first meeting with the grandpa was in a nursery in Greece town, Rochester. Due to his illness he could never remember me although he had had my pictures in his room. My first impression about him was his kindness and analytical thinking ability. I am feeling lucky to have met him, I wish I had met him earlier and had shared more things together.

I met Mr.Malcolm Beers in 2008 during our first visit to Rochester. The only thing that I remember out of that visit was his kind approach to his family members. In return he was loved and respected by his wife Mrs.Mavis Beers, his sons and their families.
He will have a special place in our hearths and memories.

My brother Peter called me up and informed me that Dad had passed away. Actually I had lost my father in Turkey in 2002 but upon receiving that news I felt as if I had lost my father once again since Dad had always been like a real father to me.
Following so many discussions we made together with him, I learned to think in a more scientific way. He taught me to look for the disadvantages as well as the advantages of the case in discussion and make a judgement only after objective evaluation of these two opposite sides.
He told me that USA was not all Manhattan skyscrapers and suburban homes of Greece, but also taught me to about the less affluent areas in Rochester and the other USA cities. I understood what he meant after distributing Christmas gifts together with him in the inner-city areas of Rochester and taking part in a social work of the Aldersgate Church Youth Group in the impoverished regions of West Wirginia. It was an unforgettable experience for me and Dad had helped me to gain it.
Whenever I remember the warm family atmosphere which the Beers family provided me during my stay in their home , I will always think of a kind, open minded, yet self disciplined gentleman in the family who had been a real teacher and “Dad” to me.
I will feel privileged getting to know him and having been so close to him.
May Allah take him to His Heaven!

Mavis, Doug, Pierre, and Ken-
I am very sorry to learn of the passing of your husband and father. He was a wonderful leader and a great father. He was a success in school, military, work, church, scouts, and more, but his wonderful family has been his greatest success. May God bless and comfort you all in this time. -Ken

I owe much of who I am to Daddy. His interest in science, math, optics, chemistry, electronics, computer science.....I have these same interests! All these things just rolled downhill. Growing up in our family was idyllic, not without growing pains, but we all became ourselves in an unbelievably supportive environment.
Daddy lived life, and was a paragon of modesty and generosity. It's hard to imagine the experience of WWII breaking out at age 20, and what was at stake. He was in the Greatest Generation, and did his part, and came back mature and full of purpose at age 25.
What a great man....his influence will echo on through generations to come.
