Alden W. Van Dreser
Quietly at his home, on October 12, 2010, at age 90 after a long battle with blood disorders. Predeceased by his wife Elizabeth in 2002. Survived by his daughter Barbara (Donald) Behner; brother, Reverend Donald Van Dreser of Vermont; many nieces, nephews & friends.
Alden was a retiree of Lawyers Co-operative Publishing Company where he worked from 1941 to 1984 as a linotype setter. He was married to his high school sweetheart for 58 years. He was known by family & friends as an easy going man with a great smile. He enjoyed being with his many friends in the deaf community & cherished the lasting bonds that they created. A graduate of the School for the Deaf where he met his wife Elizabeth. He lived in Brighton until he moved to Penfield in 2001 to be with his daughter & son-in-law. He will be remembered for his kind nature & being a "gentleman" to everyone that met his acquaintance.
Interment will be held at White Haven Memorial Park at a private family ceremony per Alden's request.
