Obituary of Daniel Lincoln Miller

On February 21, 2013 at age 86 after a long illness. Born May 27,1926, Daniel was the son of Frederick and Elsie and brother of Calvin Miller (predeceased). Daniel is survived by his beloved wife of fifty six years Mary Elizabeth (Zaino) Miller; daughters Claudia (Brennan), Leslie (Chislett), The Honorable Dandrea (Ruhlmann) and Kristan (Leeper); sons-in-law, Barry Brennan, David Chislett I, Raymond Ruhlmann III and Matthew Leeper; grandchildren, Jessica, Emily and David (II) Chislett, Colleen (Chris Krieger) and Daniel Brennan, Olyvia and Raymond (IV) Ruhlmann, Isabel and Calvin Leeper; great grandchildren, Nadia, Brenna and Declan Krieger; brothers and sisters-in-laws, Mary (Wilson) Miller, Orlando and Rose Franco, James and Annette Hughes and dear nephews and nieces. He is predeceased by his best friend and golf partner Ernest Read. Daniel was a graduate of Monroe High School, the University of Buffalo and Albany Law School. Daniel served during WWII as a paratrooper in the US Army Airborne. Daniel's community service spanned four decades as Chili Town Attorney, attorney for the Gates Fire District and member of the Gates-Chili Board of Education and Chili Planning Board. Daniel enjoyed skiing with the Gates Ski Club and golf as a longstanding member of Brook-Lea Country Club. As a practicing attorney for more than fifty years, Daniel was known for his big heart and great sense of humor. Family and friends may call TUESDAY, 4-7 PM at Miller Funeral Homes, Inc.
