Obituary of Alice D. Vogt

Alice Dwyer Vogt Born in Brooklyn, NY in 1930 to Edward & Leah Dwyer, Alice passed away after a long, but brave battle with Alzheimer’s. Alice loved and cherished her husband, her children, her grandson, all her family and friends. She had a kind, creative and generous spirit that she shared freely. Alice was a devoted and thoughtful friend who took great joy in supporting others in good times and bad. Alice volunteered her time and talents at a number of organizations. As a long time parishioner of Our Lady Queen of Peace, Alice’s efforts could be seen in the baptismal gowns she sewed and hand painted, in the landscaping and flowers, in the liturgy where she served as a lector and Eucharistic minister and in her work with the Rosary Alter Society and so much more. She volunteered for years with Mary Cariola Children's Center, Melita House, and was a troupe leader for the Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts. Alice started her career as an executive assistant at the St. Regis Paper Co. in New York City. In Rochester, she served as executive assistant to the presidents of Security Trust Co. and Marine Midland. She was admired for her professionalism and gracious style. Alice will be remembered for her grace, for embracing the zany side of life, for her caring ways and her wonderful sense of style. Her life was a gift to all who knew and loved her. There are no words to express how much she’ll be missed. Alice is survived by her children Christian Leighton, Kimberly Vogt Bavali, (husband Reza), Mark Vogt, (wife Rebecca) her grandson Hayden, her sister Patricia Sands, her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Anne & Jim Lane. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Our Lady Queen of Peace Church (Click Here For Map) on SATURDAY at 10:00AM (601 Edgewood Ave.). Interment private. Donations may be made to Mary Cariola Children’s Center (Click Here To Donate Online) or the Alzheimer’s Association (Click Here To Donate Online) in her memory.
