Art Karley helped me. I looked to the Legion to help me find someone who may have served where my Dad did in WWII. I was doing some detective work, trying to piece together my father's experience in WWII and that's how I met Art and his daughter, Linda. So very thankful for that. I will never forget. God Bless.

I remember Mr. Karley as being friendly, personable, and a good conversationalist. He used to drop us off to go horseback riding and take us to the races when his daughters and I were kids. He also knew my father since they played sports together when they were younger. I found Mr. Karley's story about the woman who paid for his groceries on Memorial Day because he was a veteran so touching that I cut it out of the newspaper, and I have been keeping it on my dresser. Thanks for helping to bring Janet and Linda into the world Mr. K. God Bless!

Uncle Art almost never turned down an invitation to a party or wedding. And we always had great conversations about his engineering career and golf! We will miss you.

Art was one of the sweetest men that I have ever known. If ever we needed a tool or advice about something around the house, Art was the "go to guy". When Martin passed away, Art helped my family through the grief and pain of his passing with tenderness and concern. He will be greatly missed at the Ely Fagan Post breakfasts and other events that they have there. His family was very lucky to have him around for such a long time. Many people in and around Henrietta will be grieving for such a quiet and caring man.

Dear Art,
You have been a good friend, a colleague mentor at Mixco, and fellow cat lover. Your family will miss you dearly, as will all your friends. Thanks for the golf lessons in the back field of Mixco; thanks for helping me buy my first set of clubs; thanks for the skiing nights at Swain on the Mixco bus. You skiied those hills better than I in your 70's. You gave me advice on selling my parents' home in Batavia and selling Mom & Dad's property in the Adirondacks. Thank you for your encouragement in my very first job at Mixco. I met your.
kitties, your daughters, and Norma. You were a very lucky man.
Your war stories helped me to be a better history teacher. You held an umbrella over my head on my wedding day in 1977 when it poured buckets. You will be missed
and remembered. Much love to you & your family, June Clare

Uncle Art lived a long life, enjoying many good times, as well as tragic ones. Funny, but you learn so much about a person after his passing, as family and friends share their memories. He was a proud member of "The Greatest Americans".. those who fought in WWII. He was an avid lifetime golfer. He was a snow skier well into his 70's. What a tribute to staying healthy. He also endured Aunt Norma's long illness and cared for her for many, many years. What an unimaginable task. He was a loving father, and worried about Linda right to the end. To me, he was an Uncle who always offered ideas and advice, along with a little encouragement.
Uncle Art, you will be truly missed. Love, Bob Matthews
