Romig, Robert G., Sgt, “Bud” Rochester: 7/12/1918 - 8/12/2013 Predeceased by his wife of 50 years Marjorie and son Robert Pilaroscia (Bonnie Deprez). Survived by his children: Richard (Marion), Gary (Kathy), Barry (Linda), Jeff (Rita), Wendy Gell (John), Eric (Sherry), Mark (Grace); 24 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, brother-in-law Art Meredith, and 22 nieces and nephews from the Best, Meredith, Clegg and Clement families. Bud served in the US Army as a sergeant during WWII and fought at the Battle of the Bulge. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Michigan in 1948. For 20 years he successfully owned and operated Romig Heating Company. Later in life he received his Professional Engineer License. Bud was an avid runner and at age 71 won the Lilac 10K for his age group. He began a 61 year long tradition with his family camping in the Adirondacks. This tradition is still being carried on today. Bud requested that his body be donated to science for medical research. His remains will be interred at Arlington National Cemetery. There will be no calling hours and the family will be holding a private Memorial Service. Donations to honor Bud can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
