Obituary of Christie S. McVicker

Victor, NY: Christie (Chris) Samuel McVicker passed at his home on Friday, February 21, 2014. Chris is survived by his wife Bernadette Guzzardo; triplet daughters Alexis (Kyle) Vitale, Brittany McVicker and Courtney McVicker; brother Martin A. McVicker; aunt Katherine H. Riano and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Chris graduated from Baldwinsville High School (1963), Onondaga Community College (1968), US Army Signal Corps E- 4 (1970) and State University of New York College at Geneseo (1972). Chris was a four sport athlete at Baldwinsville High School, a member of the General’s Football team while stationed in Germany and played Lacrosse for SUNY Geneseo. Since 1981, Chris proudly led The Flanders Group (Owner/Chairman/CEO) with a focus on six specific crevice markets guided by client relationship management strategies. Prior to founding The Flanders Group, Chris was employed by Liberty Mutual Insurance Co. (Business Sales Representative) and Nordstrom Agency Inc. (New York Resident VP). Chris was named Small Business Person of the Year by The Small Business Council of Rochester and Marketeer of the Year by IMMS. The Flanders Group was chosen as the Rough Notes Marketing Agency of the Month, voted Marketing Agency of the Year and was named Agency of the Year by the Institute of Work Comp Professionals. Chris actively participated on several boards, including Camp Good Days and Special Times, Rochester Broadway Theater League Executive Committee, Geva Theater, Nazareth College Entrepreneurial Partnership, SUNY Geneseo Jones School of Business Advisory Council, the Empire State Marine Trades Association and Monroe Community College (MCC) Foundation and Scholarship Funds. He also served on the Editorial Board of Rough Notes magazine and was a member of The Greenwich Group. To celebrate his life and many achievements, family and friends are welcome to gather at Locust Hill Country Club (2000 Jefferson Rd, Pittsford, NY 14534 View Map) on Tuesday, March 4th from 4:30-7:30pm.
