Obituary of Phylis M. Curtis

Peacefully, Phylis Marie Bower Curtis passed over on March 1, 2014 at the age of 77 from kidney cancer. She was born in Hilton, NY. Philly dedicated her life to learning, growing, loving and telling her truth. She had a wonderful sense of humor that always captured attention. Phylis is predeceased by her mother Lena Nodecker Bower, father Harry Bower, sister Elizabeth Bower Williams, brothers, Homer Bower, Harvey Bower, Al Bower and Willard "Gunny" Bower. Her daughter Stacy Rockow passed on 12/26/2013 after a tough battle with cancer. She is survived by her children, Stephen (Karen) Rockow and Renee Rockow both of Seattle WA. Grandchildren, Matthew, Elliott, Sofie and Samuel. Former husband of 30 years, Bill Rockow and former husband, Jack Curtis. Niece Dianna Bower Cole and several other nieces and nephews. Many lifelong friends including, Annie Rockow, Tess Rath, Bonnie Jensen Rose, Linda Martin, and Val Benzing and Stacy's partner Cyndy Zohos. Phylis's family wishes to thank the staff at the Highlands at Brighton. Phylis will be cremated and a Memorial Service and celebration of her life will be held Saturday March 22, 2014 at 11:30 AM at Christ Unity Church, 55 Prince St.,Roch., NY 14607.
