Obituary of Robert Charles Taylor
Passed away on August 28, 2014 at age 84. He was born in Rochester, NY on January 14, 1930, the son of Charles and Alice Taylor. He is survived by Jacqueline P. Taylor, his wife of 58 years; his children, Mark C. Taylor and Amy Taylor LaBarge (Andrew); and his grandchildren, Alexander and Noah LaBarge, of Johnsonville, NY.
He was honorably discharged from the Air Force in 1954 and began work at Taylor Instruments Co. (Sybron), first in the research department and then in the electrical engineering department, where he worked for many years . After retiring from Sybron he helped his friends at Instant Photo, The Door Store, and Continuing Developmental Services with the Booster Committee. Bob also drove a Roberts Express truck. He loved cats and built homes for outside cats to help them through the winters. He loved flying, hang-gliding, gave flying lessons and taught instrument flight. In his later years he enjoyed reading, listening to tapes and sitting outside watching his tomatoes grow. He will be greatly missed.
Special appreciation and recognition to the staff of the Hurlbut Nursing Home, Who cared for Bob from June 2012 until the present and to Lifetime Care for providing hospice care for several months.
At Bob's request there will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be celebrated on SAT, September 6th at 2 PM, the Rev. Timothy DePorter officiating, in the Interfaith Chapel at Miller Funeral and Cremation Services (3325 Winton Rd. So. View Map) Interment Maplewood Cemetery.
