Rochester: On October 27, 2009 at age 71. A devoted and loving husband, father & grandfather. Predeceased by his parents, Bernard & Maria Waldecker; 3 brothers & 1 sister in Germany. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 1/2 years, Grace Leonardo Waldecker; son, John F. Waldecker Sr. (Celeste Bove); daughter, Deborah (Mark) Morrow; grandchildren, Rachel Waldecker (Robert Muzoleski), John F. Waldecker Jr., Tiffany Scheel, Megan Morrow; great-granddaughter, Nicole Namuseski Waldecker; sister, Maria Wilkins, Rochester, & sisters and brother in Germany; in-laws, Frank (Marie) Leonardo Jr., Mary (Salvatore Sr.) Marcera Elizabeth (Joseph) Gregoreski, Joseph Leonardo, Sandra Schutz & Linda Schneckenberger; many nieces and nephews; brothers and sisters-in-law in Germany and dear friends.
John played soccer in Germany and also enjoyed playing soccer & ice hockey in the Rochester Leagues until the age of 61. He still enjoyed league bowling & golfing in the German American Leagues. John was General Manager of White Wire and Metal, Rochester for 28 years. He was a member of the German American Soccer Club, Knights of Columbus #4618 where he was an honorary life member & he was a parishioner of the Church of the Good Shepherd, where he sang in their choir.
Family and friends are invited to call Friday, 2-4 & 7-9 PM at Miller Funeral Home (3325 Winton Road South). John's Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, 9 AM in the Church of the Good Shepherd (3318 East Henrietta Road) Click for Map. Interment, Maplewood Cemetery.
