Obituary of Stephen Mayka

Mayka, Stephen MD Rochester: A long-time resident of this city, passed away 10/31/09 at his current residence in Deerfield Beach, FL. Dr. Mayka was a well-known pediatrician and an extraordinary diagnostician. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mary Jane (LaIuppa) his son, Stephen P, (Judith) Mayka, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He graduated from the Univeristy of Michigan Medical School in 1943 and practiced for over 33 years in the greater Rochester area. He served as Battalion Surgeon in the 10th Mountain Infantry during the Italian campaign in World War II. A Memorial service will be held at St. Joseph's Church, 43 Gebhardt Rd., Penfield on Saturday November 7, 2009 at 10:30 AM.
