I met Dean at RIT in 1985. I was an older student and he my marketing guru/mentor. We stayed in touch and worked together over the next several years. I last saw him around 1998. Dean had several interesting tales of his work overseas. I loved him and will miss him.

Sorry to hear of the passing of Dean Siewers. I knew Dean while he was living in Germany, just south of München. He also played in the HRB, LGB for a while. My condolances to the family.

I didn't get to spend much time with Dean, but time is relative. So many important and memorable things happened each of the brief times we were together.
I learned of Dean's fearless determination to make every moment special as I witnessed an 82 year old man blaze a trail through the back yard, pushing down branches, and scaling a fence to show me the train tracks behind the house, simply because I mentioned I wanted to see train tracks while I was in Rochester. (I didn't see many trains in FL) For him, there was no time like the present. I think of that moment every time I see train tracks or hear a horn. It made such an impression on me.
My oldest son has his eyes. Our youngest carries on his name. I'm so grateful Dean got to meet both of our boys and am thankful for each of the memories I collected in our short times together.
Dean, Thank you for your bravery and spirit. I will teach your grandsons that there is no time like the present, and to make every moment special. You will live on in our hearts.
Your Grateful Son-In-Law,
Jim

Professor Siewers was a very good teacher. I graduated from RIT in 1981 and I still remember him very well. He had a lot of practical knowledge. Thank you for all he did.
