Obituary of Erma T. Baldwin

January 21, 2015; Age 87. Born Theresa Erma Lafreniere in Altona, NY; predeceased by husband, Robert E. Baldwin, granddaughter, Samantha Teresa Baldwin, great grandchildren, Emma and Benjamin. Survived by daughter, Yvonne Horton, and son, David (Jacqueline) Baldwin; grandchildren, Sarah (Jack Hutchins), Robert, Kathryn, Jamie and Evan Baldwin; great grandchildren, Nickolas, Robert, Gabriel and Zeke; many loving nieces, nephews and close friends. Blinded at the age of 6, Erma led an incredible and inspiring life. Erma met Bob at the Batavia School for the Blind and despite much opposition, married, and lived a full life. There was very little Erma couldn’t do. She cooked, baked, knitted, and together with Bob, volunteered much of their time to those in need at local nursing homes. Erma spoke often to school-aged children on disabilities. She and her many guide dogs were well-known throughout the Rochester area.
