The year was 1980 and I worked for Marlene in budget sportswear at Sibley's. My friend Marge worked on the main floor and was in charge of the "Dearforms" display which was set up like a huge pyramid. When Marlene and I went to lunch, we would totally mess up the Dearfoams display on our way. We always ordered the tuna salad platter. She was so much fun and so mischievous. She took me on a buying trip to NYC which was awesome. She also had me model the polyester pants suits in a Sibley fashion show. Now I know why ladies would buy that stuff...so comfortable. I worked in the stock room and was on my feet a good part of the day so my feet were killing me in my heels. I found a pair of flats lying around but they were two left shoes. I wore them anyway. Marlene would laugh like crazy when she saw me with those 2 left shoes on my feet. I wish I had stayed in touch but I left Rochester after I graduated from RIT. She really was a mentor to me and a barrel of fun. Was just thinking of her today for a myriad of reasons and decided to google her only to see that she had passed. So sorry.

I am so sorry to hear of Marlene's passing. I worked with her for years here at Dorschel Automotive Group. I always called her "Hollywood" because of her wonderful pink glasses she used to wear. RIP Marlene. :)
