Obituary of Bekir E. Arpag

May 11, 2015 passed peacefully at age 92. Survived by loving wife Sallie; sons, Mark (Cherie), Dean (Cindy), Peter (Karen) and seven grandchildren; Justin, Jason (Justine), Amy, Alex (Julia), Lauren, Sean and Sarah. He was also loved and cherished by an adoring extended family. Bekir worked for over 35 years as a professor in RIT's Department of Printing where he touched many lives with his exuberance, spirited wit, and infectious good cheer. Bekir was a tennis champion at RIT, an accomplished skier, and mountaineer. Born near Istanbul, Turkey and raised in Vienna, Austria, Bekir was a master linguist who spoke at least 6 languages. He will be sorely missed and remembered for his joyful thirst for living. The family has held private services to celebrate Bekir's life.
