Obituary of Charles G. Heisig
July 4, 2015 Predeceased by his elder son William J. Survived by his wife of 55 years Elizabeth J.; children, Laurel A. Heisig, Sharon H. (Daniel) Gress, Christopher C. (Dina) Heisig; grandchildren, Iaan (Danielle Abrams), Andrew and Rachael (Jacob Anderson) Gress, Laura, Eric and Jessica Heisig, Lucia Heisig and great granddaughter Renee Anderson.
Charles was raised in Minneapolis, MN, attending the U. of MN earning his B.S. in chemical engineering. He then attended U of Texas, Austin earning a Master's Degree and PhD in the same field.
Charles served in the US Navy during WWII. Following his discharge he travelled to Rochester, NY to join the Taylor Instrument Company's Research and Development Dept. After his retirement several years later, he accepted a position with Eastman Kodak Co. working there until his retirement, 6 years later.
Feeling strongly that one owes one's town a fair degree of one's time and energy, Charles served for several years on the Town of Rush Zoning Board of Appeals and as a member of the Rush Volunteer Fire Dept. Charles also volunteered at the Genesee Country Village Museum.
A service of remembrance will be held at the convenience of the family.
