Obituary of Misao Yamaji

Misao passed away peacefully on August 27, 2015. She was survived by her husband of 55 years, Takeshi Yamaji. Her children, Satoshi "Sam" (Donna), Rumi (Corey), and Alan who adored her strength for such a tiny lady. She has 3 grandchildren, Nicole, Adam and Akira and a great granddaughter, Samantha. Misao and Takeshi were the first documented Japanese deaf couple to pioneer in America. A book was published documenting their bigger than life adventures. Her passions were her family, traveling, Japanese art and crafts, her pug (ET), and making gourmet meals for family and friends. She had an amazing talent for making all things beautiful through her inner strength. A beautiful woman who will be sorely missed but never forgotten. Family and friends are invited to a viewing from 10 am- 12 noon on Sunday, August 30 at Miller Funeral and Cremation Service located at 3325 Winton Road South, Rochester NY 14623.
