Obituary of Alfredo J. Crossman-Chavez

Alfredo Jaime Crossman-Chavez, Sr. was born on March 29, 1949 in Colón, Panama to James Stanley Crossman and the late Rosaura Chavez Rios. At the age of nine, Alfredo moved to Brooklyn, New York with his Uncle Carlos. There he attended St. Gregory Elementary School and graduated from Erasmus Hall High School. Alfredo attended the University of Buffalo, New York in 1968. He moved to Rochester, New York in 1976 and started working for General Motors/Delphi in 1979. There he was a member of the United Auto Workers Union and served as a Union Representative. Alfredo retired in 2006 after nearly 30 years. In his spare time, Alfredo enjoyed photography, music and was a DJ (Cisco Sounds, Inc.) for parties and weddings. He also was a Boy Scout leader for Troop #169. He was very involved with sporting events and enjoyed taking his children to football games and track meets. Alfredo loved to spend quality time with family and friends. Alfredo entered into rest on December17, 2015, at the age of 66. He was predeceased by his mother, Rosaura Chavez Rios and sister Natalie Crossman. He leaves to cherish his loving memories his wife, Phyllis for 32 years, children Scott (Simren) Bibb (Bristow, VA), Wajid Jemmott (Brooklyn, NY), Terrance (Joyce)Parker (Bronx, NY), Carlos Crossman-Chavez (Rochester, NY), Alfredo Crossman-Chavez, Jr. (Los Angeles, CA). Sisters: Gloria Crossman (Albany, NY), Lydia Crossman (OH), Denise Crossman (SC), Joann Crossman (Atlanta, GA), Terry Crossman (Brooklyn, NY), Laura Chavez Rios (Mexico). Brothers: Herbert (Nettie) Crossman (Albany, NY); Stanley “Leto” Crossman, III (Queens, NY). Seven grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
