Obituary of Christine Diane Sevilla
Christine Diane Sevilla
Christine was our beloved younger sister. During her life’s journey, we watched her flower into a wonderful artist. We have her photographic art work and calendars to treasure for the balance of our lives. They are reminders of her keen eye for beauty in the world. Christine’s love of beauty and its preservation took her into the wetlands where mud, muck and water were no deterrent to her capturing the beauty in the reflections of a wetland pond, the vivid color of wild flowers, and movement of grasses in the field. You who knew her saw that too.
She had so many talents: author, artist, teacher, environmentalist, singer and musician. We will miss the lovely songs with which she entertained us all.
Christine regularly emailed us concerning the many environmental projects she worked on and the causes for conservation she championed. Out of these passions, came the wonderful maps of the Monroe County wetlands that were both informative as well as works of art in themselves.
We have lost our beloved sister and the community has lost a person who cared about her surroundings and acted to enhance them. To honor Christine we hope that all of us who have the same concerns for the environment and other causes will continue her efforts. The world has lost a passionate champion of nature’s beauty. We shall be the lesser for it.
