Obituary of Wayne Irving Caskey
Wayne Irving Caskey, 93, died on Wednesday, February 24, 2016, in Rochester New York.
A native of Port Allegany, PA, he was the youngest son of Jessie and Irving Caskey.
He graduated from Port Allegany High School in 1940, attended Penn State University, and the University of Arizona.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in Alabama, California and South Pacific.
After college he was employed as a Journalist with Esso [Exxon] in tourism for ten years, and later for Pennsylvania State tourism at Harrisburg, PA.
He was predeceased by his parents and six siblings: Mariam Caskey Johnson (Albert), John Caskey (Eleanor), Marjorie Caskey Kleinhans (Bob), Paul Caskey (Mary), Maxwell Caskey (Juanita), and Robert Caskey (Jane).
He is survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many close friends.
Surviving nieces: Joan Caskey Kohler (John), Austin TX; Ann Caskey O’Neill(Bruce) Rush NY; Ellen Caskey Ochoa ,Albuquerque NM; Kathryn Kleinhans Drogan(Barry), Webster NY; Barbara Caskey Ellis, Port Orange FL; Pamela Caskey Knapp(Elery),Bradenton, FL; Patricia Caskey Lanza(Richard), Bradenton FL; Caren Caskey Woodhead (John), Lakewood Ranch FL; Susan Caskey Dalpra(Dan) Longboat Key FL.
Surviving nephews: John Caskey (Linda), Albuquerque NM; Gary Caskey (Nancy), Panama; Cleaton Caskey, Bemus Point NY; Shawn Caskey, Sinclairsville NY; David Caskey , Boston, MA; Michael Caskey (Sandy), Midland TX; and Dana Caskey, Los Angeles, CA.
Also surviving, one sister-in-law: Juanita Franks Caskey (Max) of Bradenton FL.
We will always remember Wayne for his loving kindness and wit, be encouraged by his family devotion, as well as his love for America, Penn State, and ‘everything’ Pennsylvania.
Interment at Portage Valley Cemetery in Wrights Pennsylvania at the convenience of the family.
