Robert A. Moyer Jr.
ROCHESTER – Passed away on May 24, 2016. He was predeceased by his wives, Beverly Lowery Moyer & Ann M. Hill Moyer; parents, Robert A. & Leola M. Moyer. He is survived by step-daughter Lori (Robert) Black Schultz of Batavia and step-son Glen (Mary) Lowery of Bolivar; a sister, Nancy Jozwiak of Elma; four brothers, Steven (Jeanie) Moyer of New Jersey, Jay Moyer, Jack (Jody) Moyer of Little Genesee and Scott (Mary) Moyer of Richburg; and many nieces and nephews. For the past decade, he was the custodial parent of siblings Brianna Heagney, Alyssa Heagney, Houston Armstrong and Jared Armstrong.
Born March 6, 1947, in Cuba, NY, he was a son of Robert A. Moyer Sr. and Leola M. Harriger Moyer. He was married to Beverly Lowery. On July 18, 1986, he married Ann M. Hill, who died March 14, 2014.
Mr. Moyer graduated from Richburg High School in 1966 and was a Vietnam War veteran, having served with the U.S. Marine Corps. from Oct. 1966 to Aug. 1968. He was employed by Air Preheater, Wellsville, from Jan. 1969 to Dec. 1982 where he did carpentry and maintenance work. Afterward, he was employed doing property management and maintenance for many years before he was hired by Frederick Douglas Middle School, Rochester, as a maintenance worker. He retired from the school about six years ago.
Mr. Moyer was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Family and friends are invited to a Memorial Service on MONDAY, June 13th at 11AM in the Interfaith Chapel of Miller Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., 3325 Winton Road South. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
