Obituary of George Earl Claffey

George Earl Claffey passed away at age 59 on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 after a short, fierce fight with pancreatic cancer. He was born April 15, 1957 in Rochester, New York to his parents, George and Nancy, whom he admired and loved very much. George was passionate in all aspects of his life: husband, father, son, brother, uncle, friend, business professional. He was logical, loving, selfless, funny, and creative, and he could always think three steps ahead. His casual stories not only made you laugh, but inspired you to think and make better choices. His ability to lead, communicate and teach made him highly respected in the international business community. He forgave quickly and loved with all his heart. George is remembered by his wife, Janet, his four children, Caroline, Michael, John, and Grace, his stepdaughter Crystal, and his six siblings, Michael, Patricia, Barbara, Victoria, Christopher, and Jonathan, as well as by all their families. He will be missed tremendously not only by his family, but by everyone who had the privilege to know this unique and wonderful man. Memorial services will be held at St. James United Methodist Church, 4400 Peachtree Dunwoody Road, Atlanta, Georgia 30342 on Saturday, July 23, 2016 at 3:30pm. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in George’s name.
