After thirty years of perfecting her job as Mom, she established herself as an independent, self-supporting, and hard-working employee. After a period as office manager for a subsidiary of Dow Chemical Company in Plymouth, MI she moved to Rochester, NY in 1990 and became Assistant to the Executive Director of Alternatives for Battered Women (now Willow Domestic Violence Center). In 2000 she retired to focus on her new role as grandmother, and became known as Oci Ginia and Grandma Ginia to her seven grandchildren.
The family wishes to express their appreciation for the knowledgeable and loving care provided to Virginia by Kendra Hernandez, Meredith VanNostrand and Adrienne General, especially during the final year of her illness.
