To all of Nancy's family,
I was so sorry to hear of Nancy's passing when I came into St. John's on Tuesday. It was wonderful of you all to stand by her at the end. You loved her dearly and it showed in your devotion to her. I hope you know that she will be missed at St. John's, by me for sure! Seeing her in her recliner and waving a hello was part of my routine, and I'll miss seeing her there. At least her pain and suffering is behind her, and that, at least, is a good thing.
Please know I will miss you girls and the grandkids who were so often at the home visiting Nancy. I enjoyed our talks, especially about the shared experience of having a loved one at St. John's. Family members of residents have a lot in common, and it means so much to have someone to talk to who knows what you're going through. Thanks for being that for me, and I hope I was able to do that to some extent for you.
Take care of yourselves and know that you did a wonderful job watching over your mom, and now she's watching over all of you--and in a much better place too.
Love to you all,
Daphne Hemmings

Debbie, thinking of you in your sorrow of Nancy. I enjoyed working with Nancy at John B. Pike & Son and remember asking you at one of our sewing classes what Nancy was doing and you said she is enjoying her gardening. She is in a better place now with the Lord.
