Obituary of Fernand P. Carsone
Passed away on September 22, 2016, at the age of 92. Predeceased by his wife, Anne Carsone. Survived by his children, Dianne Wake, Suzanne (Don) Menz and Fern (Dr. Robert) Little; grandchildren, Michael, Anne, David, Eric, Rob and Jenna; great-grandchild, Janie; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Fernand was a WWII veteran where he served as Tech Sergeant in the Army Air Corps. He flew missions on B17 as a Top Turret Gunner. He was a POW, earning a Purple Heart, the Medal of Honor, a 5 Star Conspicuous Medal and several others. He worked for the US Postal Office where he retired after 29 years and was a lifetime member of the NLCA.
Beloved by all who knew him, he touched the lives of many with his sense of humor and loving nature. A cherished father, grandfather, and new great grandfather, he most enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and playing golf in his leisure time.
We want to thank all the nurses, care assistants and staff in Erie at the NYS Veterans Home at Batavia for their excellent care and compassion in the care of our father.
Graveside Services were held privately.
