Obituary of Louise D. Caring

Louise Dolores Caring died at age 92 on August 21, 2016. Her adventurous, creative and generous nature will be missed. Born January 22, 1924, Louise grew up in Rochester, graduating from Nazareth College with a degree in English. She taught in inner city Chicago, attending graduate school there and worked for Monroe County Child Protective Services for many years. An avid reader who published two stories, Louise retired to Cranberry Lake in the Adirondacks with her beloved pets to enjoy hiking, cooking and visits with friends and family. Predeceased by her son, Daniel Healy, siblings Margaret Winegarden, Elizabeth Gleason, and George Beahon, and husbands William Healy and Joseph McGurn, Louise is survived by her children Molly Healy, Martha Healy (Sandor Schuman), Sarah Healy-Whelden (Richard Whelden), Christopher Healy, stepdaughters Bridget Shaw (Ron) and Eileen McGurn, grandchildren Benjamin, Samuel and Anna Schuman, Nathaniel, Timothy and Daniel Whelden and Phosikeo "Goy" Insixiengmay, three great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Special thanks to the staffs at Episcopal Church Home and Rochester Presbyterian Home for their kindness and caring. Family and friends are invited to call at Miller Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., 3325 S Winton Rd, 11:30AM Saturday October 22, followed by a noon memorial service. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Lollypop Farm Humane Society.
