Bai even though I never met you, your soothing misdemeanour and words became the premiss on which our friendship was formed. You kind attitude and distinguished nature shone through on facebook. You and your wisdom will be missed. We all hoped for the best but God had his plan. You are now at peace and free from all ills. You memories will live on. You were a GEM. Rest perfectly in eternity Brother Bai.
My heartfelt sympathy to the family and close ones. May God give you the strength to endure this trying time. He is gone but will not be forgotten. Una ush ya!!

Rest in peace to my dear Obai; I'm going to miss you immensely How I wish someone can wake me from this nightmare. we had so many fond memories together and the one that kept replaying in my mind is when I just moved here from Sierra Leone, I didn't know how to speak proper English and the kids made fun of me;one day I came home crying uncontrolably from all of the taunting I was enduring in school. The very next day you took me to the bus stop and got on the bus with me, first you yelled at the kids then you proceeded yelling at the driver for letting the kids make fun of me,I felt so embarrassed . You were such a protecter andwill go to war for each one of your kids. I thank God for giving me the opportunity to have you as a father; you will always be a treasure in my heart I love you so much. losing you is like a big part of me have departed, but I will not fail you,I will continue to live the rest of my life to make you proud. RIP papa, heaven has gained an astounding angel. I have no doubt in my mind that you have made it through the gates of heaven because you had a heart of gold. I'm go to miss you so, love you
Sincerely your Nush Nush

I am so sad by the sad news of Mr Bai Turay. Mr Bai Turay was one of the kindhearted gentlemen ever known. I was always checking on him during his illness and his sweet soul and spirit will attest to that. A week to his final departure to meet the Lord, I kept calling and calling, no answer, sent whatsapp messages, no answer, got worried, then to my greatest shock, read the terrible news on Facebook in my Office that Mr Bai passed the previous night, I couldn't control the tears. May his Precious and sweet soul rest in perfect peace.

I arrived in the US in March of 1986, and a few days later was followed by Junior Karim, who later became Bai's roommate, in Maryland. They shared an apartment by the P G Plaza neighborhood, and I used to live in Takoma Park, on Carrol Avenue, few miles away.
I was living with my fiancée then, a Caucasian, who don't cook African food. By way of Junior Karim, an excellent cook, that's how I met Bai. Our relationship blossom, and I was always at their apartment on weekends socializing with the streams of visitors to the single guy's pad. Those were fun memories that will never come again.
Him, Bai, being my small boy in Bo School, also, strengthen that bond, and we continued to cross path on the East Coast when I am there visiting, from Texas.
Social Media, was the last venue that we interacted, and he was a prolific writer, and very respectful to me notwithstanding my abrasive approach in discourse.
Bai was a family man, and his passing brought me to terms with my own mortality, and a rude awakening to the urgency of now. And I will him with a peom by the Quaker Missionaries, viz:
"I shall pass this way but once; any good that I can do or any kindness I can show to any human being; let me do it now. Let me not defer nor neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again"
Bai, in his trying times, was an embodiment of the aforementioned construct, and I wish him well until we meet again. He will be missed, and my sincere condolences to the family, here in the Diaspora, and in Sierra Leone.
