Obituary of Donald Blauw Vair
Rochester: Jul. 23, 1923 - Dec. 10, 2016. Born and raised in Rochester; graduate of Brighton High School and Clarkson University. Veteran of WW 2, Philippines campaign, US 5th Army Air Corps. Worked in the insurance business for 35 years. In his retirement, Don was an active volunteer with Meals-On-Wheels, and performed with Chorus of the Genesee.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Barbara Byrne Vair, and is survived by his wife, Bette Smith, of Laurelwood Assisted Living Center. Survived by sons Randall (Karen) of New York City, Richard (Diane) of Brighton, Bruce (Jeffrey) of Rochester, Brian (Debbie) of Jacksonville, FL, and John (Michele) of Newark, nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
No prior calling. Donald’s Memorial Service will be held SATURDAY January 7, 2017 at 11 AM in Christ Episcopal Church of Pittsford, 36 South Main St. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the Alzheimer’s Association.
