Mary A. Waterman
Born March 12, 1917 Mary passed away to join her husband, Don on December 23rd at the age of 99. She was a devout Catholic and charter parishioner of St. Lawrence Church in Greece, NY. Mary instilled in her children the value of hard work and contributing to society. Mary volunteered with the church and the Greece Ambulance. She also translated books into braille for the blind. Mary worked as a school secretary. She was a creative seamstress, an avid western square dancer, and a brilliant bridge player. Mary enjoyed entertaining at her home, playing cards, and socializing with her many friends. Mary and Don lived in Greece NY for most of their lives, then moved to Florida in 2006, and returned to Rochester in 2012 to be near their daughter.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Don, to whom she was married for 74 years, and five siblings. Mary is survived by her sister, Jean; daughter, Anne (Allen Grieco); sons, Dan (Carolyn) and Steve (Paulette Johnson); nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
There will be a celebration of her life at the Clover-Blossom Legacy, 100 McAuley Drive, Rochester, NY at 2 pm on Wednesday, December 28, 2016. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Foodlink, PO Box 60766, Rochester, NY 14606.
