Obituary of Eleanor J. Johnson

Eleanor Griesser Klick Johnson, age 93 of Canandaigua died Tuesday, January 3, 2017. Eleanor was born January 6, 1923 in Rochester , NY, a daughter of the late Edward and Mary Reynolds Griesser; Eleanor was also predeceased by her older sister, Mary and her twin sister Ruth. She was an active parishioner and volunteer at the former St. Joseph’s Church in Rush, a member of the Rush Senior Citizens and an avid card player, especially pinochle. She married Albert G. Klick October 20, 1948. He predeceased her April 26, 1962. She married Bernard F. Johnson July 10, 1965. He predeceased her December 6, 2009. She resided in Rush for 57 years. Eleanor is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Janet and Michael Sheehan of New Hartford, NY; Ruth and Eric Eichler of Canandaigua, NY; grandchildren, Colleen Sheehan of Schenectady, NY and Kevin and Elisa Sheehan of Stillwater, NY; 3 great granddaughters, many nieces, nephews and dear friends too numerous to mention. Calling hours will be 4-7 on Thursday, January 5, 2017 at the Miller Funeral & Cremation Services (3325 Winton Rd S). A funeral Mass will be celebrated, Friday, Jan. 6, 2017, 10 AM at Saint Marianne Cope Parish at St. Joseph's Church, Rush NY. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to, St. Marianne Cope Parish, School of the Holy Childhood or the Rochester Alzheimer’s Association. The family wishes to thank the staff at Quail Summit Assisted Living Center and MM Ewing Continuing Care Center, Lakeview Wing in Canandaigua for the wonderful care Eleanor received 2011-2017. Interment will be at Pine Hills Cemetery, Rush, NY.
