Jim and I worked together for nearly 30 years - both of us seeking to, and working toward, making Henrietta the great place to live, work and shop that it has become. So much of the Henrietta you enjoy today is due the unbending determination, judgement and outstanding effort Jim put into his vision for, and love of, the Town of Henrietta. Thank you Jim! You will be greatly missed. Your legacy is assured in the streets, residences, businesses, shops and employers and employees that have become a reality due to your vision. Our condolences and prayers go out to his family and friends. May God continue to bless all who knew him, worked with him and grew up with him.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the family. My dad (Pete) and Jim had been friends for many years. You can't think about the town of Henrietta and not think about Jim and the decades he invested in the town!

For all the Breese Family-
If I were in NY and not battling leukemia-I would be there! All of us have lost a GREAT man! He was one half of my political mentors. The other half was Mary.
I first met Jim as soccer club president thru Mike Udelson. My first assessment: a no nonsense, frank, don't waste my time guy.
I next met Jim as a RH school board member. Mary was harrassing me to go see Jim. At one school board meeting, Jim shook my hand and said "Come and see me." Mary (being Mary and one of my Roth High teachers) called me to tell me when my appointment was! She just told me"Don't waste his time." (no small talk).
After my appointment with Jim, we began meeting at Cartwrights for lunch-and cigars-inside-on a regular basis. I'm certain he had something to do with my appointments to Youth and Recreation Boards as well as being asked by the Part Town Chair to serve as campaign coordinator for all campaigns run in town.
Initially, I was cautious with him because his reputation had proceeded him. BUT as we warmed to each other-I got a nickname. He would preface his "lectures" at Cartwrights with "Listen, kid." So-Jim-from "the kid"! God bless you and God's speed to your new "office" (Hope there are plenty of Romeos!) And thank you for holding "the kid's hand as you taught me about politics.
The Deckers send our profoundest regrets to all the Breese Family. He is a cherished and great loss to ALL of us!

To the Breese Family
I was so sorry to hear the news of your Dad and Grandfather's passing. I had the great honor and privilege of working for Supervisor Breese as the Director of Recreation & Youth Bureau from 2001 until 2007. Jim was a very fair and good person to work for. I learned much from him and admired him greatly. Henrietta owes much to Jim's vision for the community that he loved and to his leadership for 26 years. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Your Dad was much loved and will be missed by many, especially me.

Our hearts are broken. Uncle Jim was so dear to me. I loved spending time with him & the family at the beach. He made sure ppl were nice to me even when I acted like a dork. He hugged like a grizzly bear! He got me interested in researching our family, & I would call him to tell him my discoveries about our illustrious family, including many early settlers, Revolutionary War soldiers, inventors, etc, plus some sad, dramatic anecdotes about Breeses long ago. Besides being gentle & kind, he was brilliant & intuitive.
I will miss him.
Love,
Kate
