Our sincere condolences to Jane, Sarah and Bill and their extended families. My earliest memories of my cousin Bill was when he with my Uncle Paul and Aunt Mary would visit us in Ogdensburg NY in the early 1940's. We didn't see much of each other or our families over the years since my career in the Army kept us on the move around the world. I do remember stopping by Rochester on a reassignment when all of our children were younger and Bill and Jane visiting us at Ft Bragg, NC and after I retired at our home in Springfield, VA. Sharon and I pray that your fond memories of your husband and father comfort you in this time of sorrow. Phil & Sharon

My condolences to Jane and family.
I have many happy memories of Bill from Scout Troop 79 days and days at the Kennels. Sorry we lost contact with each other over the years.

Bill Sanders of East Rochester posted a condolence

We were neighbors of Bill for 30 years on Wyatt Drive. He was a wonderful person.
One time, a few hours after a tough storm, I saw him outside his home clearing the space around the fire hydrant.
Later, on a nicer day, I asked him about it and he smiled.
He told me, "I learned as a Boy Scout that taking care of a hydrant is a responsibility to be taken seriously. I haven't forgotten it."
Bill was that kind of guy. He took his responsibilities seriously and was a fine gentleman.

Bill was a wonderful, kind, loving man. We know that Jane and family will miss him greatly, but take solace in knowing that he led a wonderful life, full of love and appreciation for all. We have no doubt that Bill has taken his place in eternal peace, comfort and bliss, where he patiently waits to one day to be reunited with his loved ones.
