Herbert Nealon and Catherine Gallagher Nealon ; son-in-law, John Warden. Survived by his brother and only sibling, J. Herbert Nealon Jr. (Isabelle) of Dunmore PA. Survived also by his loving grandchildren, Elizabeth Warden; Anna, Theresa, Louisa Schilling; Margaret Kelly, Bobby, Brigid, Molly, and Annie Nealon; and Connor and Kit Nealon. Robert was born in Kingston, PA in 1930. After graduating from Scranton Prep, he received his BS in Chemistry from the University of Scranton in 1952. This began a lifelong journey of learning, including attending law school courses at night and teaching himself solid state electronics. He also experimented in horticulture and pest control, teaching and writing, even driving trucks and flying airplanes. Bob’s career evolved from working in research and development at companies including Ronson and General Dynamics, to starting his own businesses in electronics design (Fjord Laboratories) and retail (The Village Mouse). His broad experience and training culminated in roles with the US Government Agency of Defense Logistics, auditing defense contract research in Buffalo and Owego NY. Bob’s greatest love was Helen, who he dated in high school and married at St. Vincent’s Church in Scranton in 1954. They settled in Pittsford NY in 1963 where they finished raising their children. They were active members of St. Louis parish and together they enjoyed music, social gatherings, golf, international travel and all things Irish. “Pop Pop” will be remembered for his wisdom, great wit and sparkle in his eye. He will be deeply missed. May he rest in peace with Helen and Jimmy once again in the arms of his loving God.
