Bill served in the US Coast Guard, where he was taught to cook and after his honorable discharge worked at a variety of venues in the food service industry as a cook and server. Bill refined his cooking skills preparing desserts at the Thruway Marriott along with his good friend the late Tonie Gibbons. His career in the food industry included time at the Thruway Marriott, Del Monte Lodge and the Holiday Inn Airport. His interests besides cooking and baking included, Buddhist philosophy and teaching, wild life photography, travel, gardening and the love of good wine. His taste in fine foods and wine combined with creative table presentation were a dinner experience second to none. Bill's good taste extended to his appearance, his choice of clothes were unique and different and stood out from the crowd. A good sense of fashion and style were a hallmark of his appearance. "Mr. Bill" as he was known to very close family and friends enjoyed life and brought joy to all who knew him. He will be greatly missed, but we are so very privileged to have known him. There will be no formal service. Those wishing may make a contribution to a charity of one's choice in his memory.
