Obituary of Ruth E. Lauderdale

Ruth E. "Betty" Lauderdale (Carr), 92, passed away peacefully April 12, 2017 at The Friendly Home in Rochester, NY Born April 24, 1924 in Auburn, NY to Helen J. and Clayton F. Carr Sr. She received her degree from Auburn Memorial Hospital School of Nursing and provided care to others for more than 25 years. She and her husband Doc enjoyed traveling, cross-country skiing and bird watching together. Betty loved pansies and was happiest when tending her flower garden or walking beaches collecting seashells. She was a compassionate nurse and respected by colleagues. Her patients were comforted by her warm and caring smile. Predeceased by her husband, Walter E. "Doc" Lauderdale, IV; son, Peter Lindsay; brother, Clayton F. Carr Jr; step-daughter, Mary E. Hart Survived by: children and step-children - Sarah L. (Denise Thompson) Ott, Julie K. (Darcelle Foster) Lindsay, Walter "Elliott" (Tsai Ling) Lauderdale V, Susan L. (Michael "Mickey") Hill, James C. (Jeanne Windsor) Lauderdale, Robert A. "Tony" (Debbie) Lauderdale, Jean E. (Dick) Dorn Grandchildren - Jonathon Ott, Joseph (Tiffany Rice) Rowley, Reanna Lindsay, Katie (Ryan) Kenton, Patrick (Bethany) Hill, John A. "Andy" Hill, Susan Hart, Elizabeth Hart, James Lauderdale, Eric Dorn; 13 great-grandchildren; sister - Joanne Lally of Auburn, NY The family would like to thank the Morgan Place staff at the Friendly Home and Lifetime Care Hospice for their excellent care and support.
