Wing Y. Bow
April 19, 2017, at the age of 103 1/2. Predeceased by his loving wife, Helen Bow; parents, Lee Yee Bow and Huie She Bow; siblings, Gam Hoo Louie, Shong Lin Wong, Bark Hall Bow, Yat Ping On and King Sun Bow. Survived by his devoted daughter, Diane (Gene) Cairo; adored grandson, Justin (Emily) Landon; great-grandchildren, Benjamin and Rebecca Landon; sister, Troy Leun Hom; nieces and nephews and a multitude of cherished friends.
In 1938, Wing graduated from Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, OH with a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering. In the 1940’s he was a B-29 Weight and Balance Engineer for General Motors. Wing served as X-Ray Technical Advisor for the United Nations World Health Organization in the 1950’s. He retired in 1980 after installing medical equipment for Picker X-Ray Corporation in Rochester, NY in the capacity of their Sales and Service Manager.
Wing devoted his life to family and others and especially enjoyed traveling the world with his beloved grandson, Justin. Theirs was and is an exceptionally close connection. He was always on the cutting edge of technology as evidenced by his many relationships with young people. Wing’s passions included the simple pleasures of life… Fishing on Hemlock Lake, tending to his beautiful yard, tinkering in his garage or basement, being an avid reader and loving food. Wing touched and enhanced the lives of all that he met.
Family and friends may call FRIDAY May 5, 2017 from 4 – 7 PM at Miller Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., located at 3325 Winton Road South.
A Memorial Service will be held on SATURDAY May 6, 2017 at 11AM in The All Seasons Chapel at White Haven Memorial Park located at 210 Marsh Road.
