To the family of Lina/Carol I have gotten to know her as my Mom was Rose (Oppel) Cringle they were girlfriends in Buffalo NY, before she moved to Canada. They still had kept in touch thru Xmas cards. I notified Carol of my Mom moving into Long Term Care in 2015, I had notified her of Lorayne Hawley's passing in 2016. I had hoped to notified her of my Mom's passing Friday Oct. 13/2017, in Thunder Bay Ontario Canada. I am so sorry to hear of Carol's passing. Please accept my heartfelt condolences for your loss! She was so easy to talk to. Mother's hold their children's hands for just a little while,,,and their hearts forever!

We have lived in the neighborhood for the past 40 years. Met Carol many years ago and she and I had many conversations about my volunteer work with the scouts.
Ryan, our son spent a lot of time with the Horn boys.
Had lost touch over the past year and very sorry. Carol was one of those "genuine" people, and she will be missed.
Our sincerest condolences to all of her family.
In honor of Carol, we celebrate she is now without pain. We know she is still watching over us.

When my husband (Jack Miller, Jr.) was in the hospital in Dec. 1964, recovering from a traffic accident, Carol sent dolls to our daughters, which helped us get through the Christmas season until Jack was able to come home. Though the dolls have long since departed one of their dresses still survives and, modeled by other dolls, has been through many hours of play with my daughters and grand-daughters, an ever-present reminder of Carol.
May you be comforted by your memories and the many people who love you. Marie-Louise, Jeanne, Kaia and their families join me in expressing our thoughts and prayers for your family.
Peace and Love,
The (Boston) Millers

Please accept my family's sincerest sympathies and condolences on your personal loss with Mrs. Pennington's passing. The frequency of periodic returns to our neighborhood diminished with our parent's passing, however, whenever our paths crossed it was always with warm welcome and polite conversation. Such memories of Mrs. Pennington always were how even keeled and courteous despite continually being surrounded by rambunctious adolescents (which I hope is considered quite the compliment that I do).
Respectfully,
Mark McDonough and Family

I have many fond memories of Carol as I too worked at the Town Hall. Some times we were the only females in the conference room. We shared lunches, political get togethers & other adventures. She was always willing to help & was a great negotianator. Her work was always the best & most efficient even though she did not get the thanks or credit she deserved. I will miss her even though I moved away over 8 years ago. My sincere condolences.

Carol was truly one of a kind!! Although as I say that I think of all we had in common yet all the traits of hers I wish I had! Her ability to compliment & always see the good in others was one of my favorites! I see the good but can fail at times to tell people out loud.. Her uplifting, fun spirit was contagious. Her hugs full of meaning and love!
We had so much fun together laughing & although we worked hard she never made me feel alone as she helped me with so much! Everyone always asked how we know each other after their first guess of me being her daughter. Lol The short story is she adopted me & later everyone I knew. She decided I needed help & she wanted to help me.
She was passionate about many things and when she set her mind to something it got done!!! There is more stories than I could possibly tell but many great memories since 2006! She was part of not only our immediate family but of our extended family as Everyone loved her, she knew everyone by name, and about their lives as well. (Even most of us can't keep it straight! Haha). Then add the staffs over the years & of course our guests/customers, dockers, & friends!!
So in turn Carol also included us as part of her family, inviting us to most every holiday and gathering, keeping us updated on everyone as well.
The world wasa better place with Carol in it! It will leave a major void for us all. Maybe we can all reflect and try to adopt & attain even one of her many qualities we loved so much!
I'm thankful to God for giving me this angel when I needed her & helping To prove friendships have no age boundaries!
I'm thankful to her for helping Tom & I raise our son to the fine young man he has become. She loved us all & we loved her with all of our hearts!
Rest In Peace my friend! Return home to our Lord your work here is now complete. Continue to watch over us.
Love you lady! ~ MA, Tom, Tommy

I am so sorry to hear of Carol's death. I worked at the Henrietta Public Library when she was the town Clerk of Henrietta. We shared some of those Schaller's lunches during those years and after we both had retried, especially on our birthdays . She was always a good friend and I shall miss her. Hearing about the latest dollhouses, and the grands was such fun. She was a great lady and i (and many others) will miss her.

to the family,
I am so very sorry to hear about your mother today. I had no idea regarding her illness and now she is no longer suffering. Our parents were good freinds for many years that they lived across from each other. You in the green corner house and us in the blue end of Friel abode. Our hearts and prayers go out to the entire family.

Kathy, Patti and family, Carol was a wonderful friend and mentor to all.. Her dedication to the Republican Party, Henrietta Town and community was evident right to the very end of her earthly life. Yes, you were a wonderful Santa Claus I have photos to prove it.
God has a special place for Carol He is showering her with all the love she gave to others. I'll miss you my friend and our breakfast chats.

I met Carol once at Kim's famous Halloween Party. She was funny there and I am sure all her life. I met all her daughters as well so I hope the family will remember her as a happy, kind and loving woman.
Your memories will sustain you throughout your lives. Remember them and talk about her when you can. Do not hold your feelings inside as crying and talking will help tremendously.
Deepest Condolences to you all. Pam
