Chuck was a cherished member of the community at Elmwood Manor. I enjoyed chatting with him whenever I'd see him on the bench, but often found him engaged with someone else.
My father, who was the same age as Chuck, passed away in 2001, and talking to Chuck, a well-educated, interesting man with a wide-ranging life experience, and an open mind to new ideas, was like chatting with my father.
I send Anne and the rest of the family my condolences for your loss.

Jean and family, I was blessed to be led by Rev Stratton through my early years of faith formation. He dealt with my questions and was intergral to my ministry as a Deacon in the United Methodist Church. I am grateful for his guidance and encouragement. God's peace and comfort as you grieve and celebrate that gift he was to you and many. Bonnie Cummings LeValley

Heidi and I want to express our deepest sympathy to you all, and I hope to be there at the service on the 25th. I sit here writing this in the Pastor's Study at First Pres Ballston Spa, where I am sure Chuck sat! As I said to Amy last month in during her visit here, all that I do as a Minister of the Word and Sacrament has been influenced by Chuck's example. For that, I will be eternally grateful!
Joy and Peace,
Scott DeBlock

Was sorry to hear this. Loved this guy. Went to his church from about 11 years old to 18 when we moved. Was fortunate that he met with us several years ago in Rochester. He was a wonderful Pastor.

Keeping the Stratton family in our prayers and close to our hearts. So fortunate to have known Charles, to hear his stories, enjoyed his recitations of poetry, and seen his beautiful woodwork. What a wonderful legacy he leaves all of us. He will surely be missed.

I grew up in Youngstown, New York and attended the First Presbyterian Church there. I remember his engaging and creative sermons even as a child and marvelled at his gift as a minister. In 1978 I was married by him to my husband of presently 39 years. I don't know if we will get to the amazing 68 years of marriage as he! I remember and still have typed sermons that were graciously sent by my mom to me when I moved out west. I will treasure my memories and can still hear his voice and feel his strong warm handshakes at the end of the services. He lived a full and wonderful life! Praise God!

Jean and family,
My prayers are with you.
I am so thankful I got to meet Charles and for your gracious hospitality a few years ago.
I cherish the cross Charles made for me. It is in my church office along with items from Brother Justus and my father.
Their presence surrounds me.
Blessings of peace and love to all of you.
