Obituary of Mary V. Ferrari

Mary V. Ferrari passed away peacefully on June 25, 2017, surrounded by her loving family. She was 87 years old. Mary grew up the youngest of eight children. She married Fred Ferrari in 1949 and together they raised two daughters. She was a devoted wife and mother, sister, aunt and friend. She will be remembered for her feistiness, her great sense of humor but above all her unwavering love of family. Mary was predeceased by her loving husband of 53 years, Fred, her parents, Peter & Francesca Imbastaro & six siblings. She is survived by her daughters, Anne (Allen) Ormiston & Francine (Gary) Swetman; grandchildren, Laurie (Rob) Valentino, Lisa (Jay) Falvo, Michael Swetman, Emily O'Donnell, James Mase & 11 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her beloved Sister, Grace (John) Gangie; nieces: Sharon (Bernie) Clark, Phyllis (John) Swift, brother-in-law, Anthony Ferrari; several nephews, nieces, family members and friends. Mary handled her illness with great strength and dignity. The family would like to thank the Neurology team at the U of R, in particular Doctors Lawrence Samkoff and Charles Thorton, for the excellent care they gave to Mary. We would like to thank the U of R Visiting Nurse Service, the MDA Association, and the Leo Center for Caring. Everyone worked together to provide the best possible end of life care for Mary.
