Obituary of Sally D. Crowley

On July 13, 2017, Sally Maureen Delbridge Crowley peacefully departed this world and entered into eternal life, surrounded by her family. Sally was born October 21, 1933 to R. Edward Delbridge, M.D. and Margaret O'Shea Delbridge. She grew up on Thurston Rd., attended Our Lady of Good Counsel, Nazareth Academy and graduated from Nazareth College in 1955. Missing her already are her husband of 56 years, William (Bill) B. Crowley, DDS, 7 children who loved and cherished her: James, Margaret, Maureen, (Emad Botros, MD) Elizabeth (Paul C. Harrington, MD), Daniel (Claudette), Catherine (Tom McLaughlin) and William. Sally was loved and adored by 11 grandchildren: Mikayla, Ian, Evan, Brian, Ruth, Joan, Tom, Daniel, Mary, Sean, Sarah and her sister-in-law, Mary (Betty) Crowley, many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Sally was predeceased by her sister, Nancy McCartney. Throughout Sally's life, she took on many roles with love and dedication, never seeking attention or reward: teacher, wife and mother. Prior to raising her family, Sally touched the lives of countless people through her dedicated service with Genesee Settlement House, as a 3rd grade teacher at St. Augustine's School and as a founding participant of the Oklahoma Lay Volunteers Extension. Well into her 70's Sally continued volunteering for St. Mary of the Assumption and Habitat for Humanity. A lifelong learner who devoured books, her interests also included: skating, skiing, bicycling, swimming, hiking, gardening, traveling and enjoying all aspects of nature. Extreme weather could not deter her from visiting The Birds' Song Trail at Mendon Ponds, a love she shared with her children and grandchildren. Sally's family is forever grateful for the kindness and compassion of the residents and caregivers at The Landing of Brighton, who quickly became Sally's extended family. Sincere gratitude is extended to Drs. Kellin King, Judith Kramer and the nurses and entire care staff on RGH 5100 who lovingly assisted Sally on her journey home. Sally's unwavering faith continues to inspire and sustain her family. In that spirit, please join the family to celebrate a Mass of Eternal Life on Saturday, July 29 at 10:30 AM at St. Catherine of Siena, 26 Mendon Ionia Rd.
