Obituary of Mary Willie Harris
Mrs. Mary W. Harris entered into eternal rest early, July 30th, 2018.
In 1964, she moved from Memphis, TN to Rochester, NY with her daughters and three grandchildren. Shortly afterward she began working as a school bus driver, which was her perfect career because she loved driving and enjoyed children. She retired from Golden Arrow after several decades of driving and watching her eldest daughter follow in her footsteps with the same employer! One thing anyone who knew her could say was that she loved her family. She was truly about giving, loving and taking care of many, from the young to the old. Mrs. Mary Harris will be missed by many but we know that God called her home. 1 Thes 4:14
Mrs. Mary was predeceased by her parents, Will & Ida Christian; her partner of 56 years, Bennie Clay; two sisters, Ada & Camilla; brother, Leroy & oldest daughter, Barbara.
She leaves 6 grandchildren, who she was actively involved in raising, Tommy F. (Pam) Christian, Teresa D. Murray, Rico B. Wilburn, Tonya Y. Allen, Condello D. Allen & Ternisha Christian; 19 great-grandchildren, 38 great-great-grandchildren & 1 great-great-great-grandchild; daughter, Terry Regina Harris (of California);brother, Tyrone Christian (of Memphis) & dear friend, Alphonse Harrison, as well as many other loved ones.
Friends and family are invited to her Celebration of Life at 3:00pm on SATURDAY, August, 4, at the Interfaith Chapel at Miller Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc. (3325 Winton Rd. S).
