Obituary of M. Helen Young

Margaret (Helen) Young passed away peacefully on August 17, 2017 at the age of 89. She was the daughter of Bernard and Margaret (Cummings) Young, both of Rochester.

Born on March 14, 1928, Helen was a lifelong member of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, and worked for over forty years as a secretary at Eastman Kodak. A proud Kodak employee, she loved cameras, and always made sure her young cousins had the latest Brownie camera. Helen was also an avid gardener and grew prize winning dahlias. She enjoyed traveling to flower shows with her neighbors, who also shared her love of horticulture.

Helen is survived by her brother, Bernard Young of Tucson, AZ; and many cousins and beloved neighbors.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church on SATURDAY, August 26, 2017 at 9 AM followed by interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.

Helen was a kind and generous person, and donated to many charities during her lifetime. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mary's Church, Rochester, NY or to a charity of your choice.
