Obituary of James Davis, Jr.

James Davis, Jr., age 70, passed away on August 28, 2017 at the Hildebrandt Hospice after a prolonged/short illness. Predeceased by His father James Davis Sr.; mother, Lydia M. Nelson-Davis; sister, Maple L. Davis-Lynch; brother, Robert L. Davis. James met the former Linda Marie Williams at Clark AFB, Luzon, Philippine Islands and married in 1972 at Hamilton Air Force Base, Marin County, California USA. James and Linda celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary on June 7th, 2017. James had several children, the first of which was James Pitman of Philadelphia, PA, Crescent (Victor) Chicago, Illinois, Brandon (LaTasha), Christopher (Nitra) and Conrad all of Rochester, New York. They have two (2) grandchildren, Imani and Alona; siblings Juanita Davis - Luckey, John B. Davis, Walter J. Davis. Jimmy L. Davis, Michael K. Davis. James Jr., [Willie] was born on July 3, * 1947 in Warwick, Georgia USA to the late Lydia and James Davis Sr. The Davis family moved to Philadelphia PA in 1951 when James Jr was around four years old. James was the couple's third child and firstborn son. James continued to live in Philadelphia until joining the United States Air Force in 1966. James was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses on May 15, 1993. James attended Bok Area Technical High School in Philadelphia, from 1964-1966 and graduated with a Commercial Art Diploma. He then entered the USAF and was stationed at Vandenburg Air Force Base after graduation in June of 1966 during the Vietnam War. After his time in the United States military, Sargent Davis went to American International College in Springfield, MA where he obtained his Bachelor's Degree in 1973/1974. James and Linda Davis moved to Rochester, New York in 1973 after he accepted a position at Xerox. He worked at Xerox in Webster, NY for 31 years as a Photocopier Production Supervisor/Manager. James greatly enjoyed the ministry with family and friends as well as business and house projects which involved much teamwork His memorial service will be held 3 PM September 2, 2017 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 880 Saint Paul Street, Rochester, NY 14605
