I was sorry to learn today of John’s passing last month. My own law enforcement career began @ SUNY Brockport, N.Y., in the early 70’s & John and I worked together until I left in 1976. I’m sorry to say that we only communicated once or twice after that.
My sincere sympathy to John’s wife & family.

I was so sorry and stunned to hear about your loss, Janet. It doesn’t seem real. JT was such a strong, smart, giving, and good-hearted guy. It was wonderful to talk to him every time i got the chance. I salute him for his service throughout his life, and i will always be grateful to the both of you for giving me a chance at VMS, a school which i believe will be an enduring legacy of the Mahoneys for generations. My heart goes out to you and Jared, and i mean it when i say if there’s anything i can do for y’all please don’t hesitate to ask. He is where the music comes from now.
Love and Appreciation,
Gordon

Man am I going to miss him, still have the picture of us at African lion Safari at age 4. He would take us waterskiing almost whenever we wanted. He's the reason I still own a 36 ft boat till this day. Couldn't ask for a better Dad was always fun to be around. Sorry for your loss, I'll see you soon.

We had the pleasure of being one of the first families to join Village Music School. In the early days, John was always on hand to greet the kids, make sure they got a candy and have a chat.
Janet, you and your family will be in our prayers.

I first met John as a student at the college and later had the opportunity to get to know him better when I became a Brockport Police Officer. John was the kind of person who always had time to talk and listen to others. He had a keen sense of humor that will be missed by many of us. I always enjoyed seeing and catching up with him at the Point in Orleans County. I'm sure he's upstairs watching over all of us.

JT provided one of the best examples of how to be a respectable, honorable and just man. Having him as an uncle was such a beneficial blessing that I'm unable to sufficiently describe his influence.
His absence is keenly felt and his presence greatly missed.

We met J.T. Mahoney in 2008 when I joined the staff at Village Music School. His smiles, encouragement, support, and hard work during the foundational years of VMS were very meaningful and helpful to us as we transitioned to our life in North Carolina, and we are profoundly grateful. His influence will continue indefinitely in the hearts and lives of thousands of children and adults.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the Mahoney family during this time.

Brian I am so sorry for the loss of your dad. It appears he lead a full, active life doing things he loved, surrounded by those he loved. I'll never forget his generosity as he lent us the use of his boat last Oct. for our memorable impromptu trip down the Erie Canal!! And you must be a chip off the ol block for being our fearless Csptain that day! He sounded like someone I would have loved to sit down and had a beer with! God bless and may your sweet memories give you some comfort when you are missing him so.
