Obituary of Opal L. Townson
Opal L. Townson, of Rochester, passed away on October 13, 2017 at the age of 86. She was born on September 16, 1931 in North Carolina to Lee and Francis Leggett.
Her proudest achievement was holding her position for 25 years as a Committee Woman for the United Auto Workers Union at Rochester Products. She was an Employee of Rochester Products at General Motors for 45 years.
Opal was a marvelous and generous woman. She had an incredibly kind, caring and loving heart. Her house was never too small for anyone that needed a home. She lived her life to the fullest, traveling often and constantly striving for adventure. More than anything, she loved her dear family and adored her many dogs.
She has been preceded in death by her parents, her sons Bobby and William L. Turner, her sister Ella Perry, her brother Henry Leggett, and two other siblings in their infancy and a niece.
She is survived by her daughter, several grandchildren, her sister, Marie Weiss and five nephews.
Her Memorial Service will be held at 12 Noon on Thursday, October 19 at Miller Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc.
