Obituary of John V. Peterson

John V Peterson Sr. loving husband, father, son, brother and friend went to be with the Lord after a courageous battle with cancer on November 15, 2017. He was born August 23, 1961 in Punxsutawney Pennsylvania. He is survived by: His loving wife Kathy (Frew)Peterson Mother Harriet (Jack) Kling Children; John Jr (Samantha), Jason (Stephanie), Stephanie (Joshua), Melanie who reside in Oklahoma 3 step children Tom, Jennifer, Jessica 16 grandchildren with 1 being born this year on his birthday 2 brothers and 2 sisters Predeceased by his father Norman Peterson Sr. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and a recipient of a Humanitarian Service Medal and other honors and a past member of the Loyal Order of Moose Club in Churchville, NY. John enjoyed boating on lake Ontario, motorcycling, road trips, spending time with family and friends, playing guitar, gardening and working with his hands. He was known as chef John and shared his talent and food with others. He was knowledgeable of many things and was well read and self-taught. He had an excellent sense of humor and liked to laugh at life. He was very compassionate towards others. He stated "there is no such thing as a bad person there is good in everyone". He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Calling hours will be at Miller Funeral Home on Sunday, November 19, 2017 from 1:00pm - 3:00pm with a service in the Chapel immediately following calling hours.
