Obituary of Thomas Carroll Burke

Passed away while surrounded by family on November 21, 2017 from complications of cancer after a brief but valiant battle. Thomas was born on September 8, 1939 in Buffalo, NY to John J. and Frances Burke. He graduated from Canisius College and Georgetown Law School. He was an army veteran and then served as a civil litigator for 50 years with Osborn, Reed and Burke. He was a member of the American Trial Lawyers Association. Even with vast professional responsibilities, Thomas’ main focus was his sons. He made their lives a priority and never missed any sports game they played. He even took cooking classes to make his meals more tolerable. Thomas was predeceased by his parents and his sister, Mary Burke Bierly. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Berens; his sons: Sean (Jayne) of Fairfax VA, Kevin of Rochester NY and Greg of Washington DC, as well as his grandsons, Finn and Theo.
