Obituary of Sarah L. Hammond

Sarah Lichtenberg Hammond “Sorki” “When you get, give. When you learn, teach.” Dr. Maya Angelou Sunday December 10, 2017, 92 years old. Sarah received her Bachelor of Science Degree from Brooklyn College, a Master of Science Degree from the University of Delaware and a Master of Library Science from SUNY Geneseo. She is a retired science teacher from the Rochester City School District and a founding teacher of The School Without Walls. Survived by daughter and son-in-law Julie and Robert Wagner, grandchildren Emma and Connor Wagner; dear family and friends. Pre-deceased by former husband, H. David Hammond, parents Benjamin and Erene d’Azevedo Lichtenberg, brothers Benjamin and Bazil Lichtenberg and sister Miriam Friedman. Friends and Family of Sarah are invited to attend a memorial gathering at the family home on January 14th-2:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
