Obituary of Derick Lane Hulme
Derick (Ricky) L. Hulme of Henrietta passed away on January 3rd, 2018 with his family by his side. Born in Albany, NY on August 13th, 1929 he was predeceased by his parents, Harold and Harriet Hulme, and niece, Wendy Hulme. On July 10th, 1954 he married Eleanor (Watrous) in Auburn, NY. He is survived by his wife, two sons, Robin Hulme (Eileen) and Derick Jr. (Diana), as well as four grandchildren: Connor, Mackenzie, Charlotte, and Olivia. Derick is also survived by his brother Donald (Carolyn), five nieces as well as three nephews.
Derick taught and coached many sports at Edison Tech. for 34 years. He loved sharing his passion for teaching and sports with his children and grandchildren as he was a loyal fan and supporter at all of their sporting events. His cats, Lilly and Dewey, and dog, Molly are a testament to his love for animals and their importance to his family.
His family would like to thank the staff at both Strong Memorial Hospital and The Homestead at Soldiers and Sailors Hospital for their incredible work over the past few months.
Calling hours will be held MONDAY from 10 AM-12 PM with the funeral service immediately following at Miller Funeral Home.
